SK Rapid has a long and impressive history that dates back to the late 1800s. It all began in the summer of 1897 when a group of young people gathered at Schmelz to found the 1st Vienna Workers' Football Club. On July 1, 2016, the club's professional football department was separated and transferred to SK Rapid GmbH, which is now wholly owned by the club. As of January 10, 2023, the club has 16,703 members, making it one of the largest sports clubs in Austria. Additionally, the club has won the Austrian football championship 32 times, earning the right to wear three stars on its logo, with each star representing ten championship titles. SK Rapid is not only the largest football club in Austria but also a successful business with significant media presence.

Problem.

At the beginning of the collaboration, several areas were identified where we could support the club. Specifically, the field of digital products related to the delivery of banners, the support for new technical implementations, and the delivery of current campaigns required assistance from our operational teams. Specifically, there was a need for support in implementing tracking measures and delivering social media ads.

Solution.

First, the technical infrastructure was analyzed, and the key objectives were defined in the requirements. We discussed data-level tracking points and necessary events with the motivated staff of SK Rapid and jointly created an implementation roadmap. In terms of campaigns, the challenge was to provide agile support in daily operations and create a variety of campaign creatives to be delivered accordingly.

Result.

Together with the technicians and external partners of SK Rapid, we were able to implement a consistent measurement structure early on and ensure seamless data collection, which serves as an essential foundation, particularly for sponsor communications. With the support of our campaign team, social media campaigns were significantly boosted, especially those related to promotions, shop sales, and ticket sales.
